A card hold is an authorisation with no actual charge — you can charge it later if the guest does not show. A prepayment is charged immediately and either comes off the bill or is refunded. The hold is less intrusive; the prepayment is more secure.
Stripe charges roughly 1.5% + €0.25 per transaction on European cards (their standard rate). Batlr takes no additional commission on transactions — only the Pack Pro subscription, which also covers notifications, online reservations and SMS.
